Rick had his "wine epiphany" with a gifted bottle of Burgundy shared with with a dear friend. This began his passion for wine and obsession with learning as much as he could about it. He self educated himself through study, tasting and travel. His travels led him to most of the major wine regions of the world and countless winery visits. He ultimately decided to leave his career as an executive in the high stakes Nevada casino gaming industry and follow his passion. He opened West Street Wine Bar and was blessed with immediate success. Owning and operating a wine bar led him even deeper into the rabbit hole. He met scores of winery owners and wine makers, attended industry tastings and seminars and had the opportunity to visit and stay at wineries around the globe. And most importantly has tasted and shared thousands of wines.
